The Cat Flap For Cat Lovers
Dear Fellow Cat Lover, “Have you tried every other type of cat flap and they failed you miserably?” If you’ve got a standard cat door you could be putting your cat and your finances in jeopardy every single day! Most … Continue reading

Hi there
what are the dimensions of the outer casing? We currently have a large hole for our flap and I would like to check that the petporte is big enough so that it covers the hole in our door!
many thanks
Hi please see http://www.microchipcatflaps.co.uk/faq/size-dimensions/ for dimensions.
Is the selective exit kit available yet? I have tried calling to get an answer to this but cannot get through….apparently my selection is “invalid” when it clearly was not.
Sorry it does not look like the manufacturer will be releasing this module for the time being.
I am very interested in this cat flap but I am worried about the Porch that would jut out from the wall. This is a North Facing wall and I am worried about how the electronics on the Porch would react to the extremes of icy cold in the winter in the U.K. I currently have a Staywell Infra Red on the same outside wall and it reacts badely with the icy cold and the cat flaps do not last long because of the circuitry.
Hi, it’s totally waterproof and works in the winter.
Currently I have a Staywell 917 cat flap fitted into the back door. Can you please tell me if the Pet Porte will fit into the aperture left by that flap should I choose to change over.
Yes it will replace it easily.
Any idea how much energy this cat flap uses while plugged in? Also, how long would a 9v battery last for a cat that used the flap a lot?
When plugged in it draws very little power from the mains. A heavy duty 9 volt battery will last about 4 to 6 months depending on use. It will beep and flash when it needs replacing and if it runs out you can choose to have it default to open or locked. Please see http://www.microchipcatflaps.co.uk/faq/battery-ac-adaptor/ for more details.
