You can install the cat flap into a cage for example, some vets have done this for cats with sensative dietary requirements. The distance depends on the chip, the Bayer Tracer Advance chip has the longest read-range, the next best is the Identichip.

I have a big cat and your cat flap seems rather small. Will it a be a squash? I currently have a PetMate large cat/small dog flap. Does your product have to be plugged in? Are the batteries only for back-up?
Thank you
Jennifer

Hi

We have 2 cats and we had a standard Cat mate cat flap fitted into glass. However another cat keeps coming and spraying. Can the cat flap be removed by us and your cat flap be fitted by us in it's place?

I wish to use the microchip cat flap indoors to separate my cat's feeding. One cat is very greedy and will scoff all food in sight and the other cat grazes, and takes a long time to finish her food. Can you tell me how far away does the cat have to be for the flap to operate. If the food bowl is near to the door then the other cat may get in. Please can you confirm what distance does the cat have to be for the flap to operate. Thank you.
